When Integrating with Xero, there are two authentication codes that are required in the process:
1. Authentication code required to login to Xero application online
2. Authentication code required to login to Xero company file in Castaway
Authentication code required to login to Xero application online
In early 2019, the Australian Tax Office updated its online security requirements for customers of software providers that connect with the ATO. As a result, it will be compulsory for anyone with access to an Australian organisation on Xero to have 2SA enabled on their login by the end of the year.
To set up Xero 2SA please refer to https://www.xero.com/au/campaigns/two-step-authentication/
The Authentication code that is required for the screenshot below is a code that is generated by the authentication app (NOT IN XERO'S WEBPAGE)
If you do not have the authentication app, you may choose another authentication method to access your Xero account.
Authentication code required to login to Xero company file in Castaway
Please note that the above code is different from the Authentication code that is generated by Xero upon selecting a Xero company file.
The below Xero authentication code that is requested by Castaway is a code that is assembled by Xero as a security step after you choose your file, please refer to THIS article for more information on Integrating with Xero.
If you would like further guidance on the above, please contact our Customer Success Team.
