ERROR: Failed to connect to 'Xero'. Please reconnect to 'Xero' by clicking the 'Connect' Button

The Issue

If you are receiving this error message, it is likely you are trying to connect to a newer Xero file type.

The Solution

To solve this, we have built a new version of Castaway desktop. Follow these 3 steps:

1. Download the latest version of Castaway Desktop (v2024)-> Download Desktop
2. There is a specific process you need to follow to ensure the installation works correctly ... please use the installation guide below
3. After installing v2024, you may find your file associations no longer work. In other words, the blue triangle symbol will not show next to Castaway files in Windows Explorer or Castaway app shortcuts on your desktop, taskbar or Start Menu. To re-associate your files with Castaway, follow the steps in the guide below. You will only need to do this once.
