New Dashboard option is missing

Castaway makes it easy to create your own custom dashboards. To start the process, we go to the Reporting workspace and select the Boards button from the left navigation bar. In normal circumstances, the 'New Dashboard' option will be available in the Dashboards panel.

If the New Dashboard option does not appear, as in the screenshot below, the most likely cause is a read-only file. In the top toolbar of this image, you can clearly see the [Read-Only] status.

To bring back the New Dashboard option, you will need to open the file in full access mode. The most common problems we see, together with their quick solutions are:

1. You have multiple versions of the file open at the same time (only the first version opened will have full access, all subsequent version open read-only to prevent conflicts)
2. You have opened the file straight from an email (you need to download the file first)
3. File properties in Windows Explorer are set to read-only (you will need to untick the read-only checkbox)
