Castaway's Consolidation add-on allows you to merge and combine multiple Castaway files to produce a single group report. These consolidation files are essentially reader files of the lower-level files chosen to form the group.
If you'd like to view the latest Actual periods in your Consolidated file i.e. have Actuals displayed in your Consolidated reports, you will need to make sure that all your subsidiary files are rolled over to the same period.
For example ...
- Subsidiary A has Actuals enabled from Jul 2022 to Dec 2022, but
- Subsidiary B has Actuals enabled from Jul 2022 to Sept 2022
- Both subsidiary files are then used to create a consolidated report for Group AB
In that case, what we can expect is that in the Group AB report, we will only see Actuals from Jul 2022 to Sept 2022 because subsidiary B only has Actuals up to Sept 2022 i.e. both subsidiaries are not rolling over to the same period of Dec 2022.
If you'd like your Consolidated report to display Actuals up to Dec 2022, you will need to make sure that both files have Actuals up to the same period.
When your report does not show the Actual period you expect, this means that one or more subsidiary files haven't been rolled over to that period of actuals yet. You will then need to check all the subsidiary files and ensure that they are all being rolled over to the same period of Actuals.
To check for this, you will need to open each subsidiary file in your consolidation by either going to Window > Open in the consolidated level, or by opening the forecast individually.
