Sharing and storing Castaway files
Castaway v2021 is a desktop-based program. This means that the data files created in Castaway are separate, stored locally on your computer, and are not stored in Castaway servers. You can store Castaway files in most physical, virtual and cloud environments very much like Microsoft Word or Excel. You can even transfer them to USBs or attach and email them to other users.
Password protection
Castaway v2021 does not currently have an option for password protection or the ability to restrict access to the Castaway file via a password.
The best way to secure your Castaway files is to restrict access to the Castaway data file and save them in a secure location. Think of Castaway files as similar to an Excel or Word file. It is portable and can therefore be stored in any folder on any server, including remote storage like Dropbox and Google Drive. This would be no different to many other files that you also keep confidential.

Is there any way a few people work on the same Castaway file at the same time?
Regardless of where the Castaway file is saved, it is possible to open multiple versions of the same file at the same time. However, in Castaway v2021, only the first-opened version will allow full access. All subsequent instances will open as Read-Only so they can not be edited at the same time.
