Mapping is a key process in creating your file via Integrations. It is a great productivity tool that lets you design the Chart of Accounts you want for management intelligence purposes in Castaway. The mapping process also allows you to create that connection between your accounting system and your Castaway file to import the data quickly, which saves you massive amounts of time come month-end.
Once you've mapped your external Chart of Accounts to Castaway, you might want to keep track of where each account is mapped to. While we don't have a separate mapping report, there's an easy way to find out.
How do I confirm where the account is being mapped to?
To confirm where the accounts are being mapped from your source, click on the source accounts (i.e. the accounts on the right). Castaway will indicate to you in flashing orange where the selected account is currently mapped to in Castaway's Chart of Accounts (on the left).
This works vice versa. If you want to understand what accounts have been mapped on the left, click on the account and Castaway will highlight the source account on the right.
You can also tell if a Castaway account has any mapping against it by their bolded font.
